Thank you for your interest in the Scout Program at the USS ALABAMA Battleship Memorial Park. We feel sure your troop's participation will be both educational and fun. The following is important information to help you plan your trip. Overnights are available any night except Christmas Eve and Day.
Battleship Memorial Park closes near sunset each evening. After that time, a security guard will be on hand all night. The Scout Duty Chief will be available until 8:00PM. You should plan to arrive at the Park by 3:00PM to allow adequate time to store your gear and familiarize the troop with the area. Upon your arrival, please ask the ticket office or guard to notify the Scout Duty Chief.
Reservations may be made by calling (251) 433-2704 Monday through Friday from 8:30AM until 4:00PM. If you have any questions, please contact our Scout Coordinator during these hours.
There are NO COED FACILITIES AVAILABLE. All facilities will be shared by several groups. It is required that only male chaperons accompany boy groups, and only female chaperons accompany girl groups. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS. We encourage you to plan on one adult for every eight scouts.
Prices
A $60.00 non-refundable deposit is required with your confirmation to hold your reservations. The balance of the overnight charges are payable in full no later than 6 weeks prior to your reservation. At an additional cost, a USS ALABAMA Scout Patch and a tee shirt are available only to boy or girl scouts spending the night aboard the ship. A standard press release is also provided to send to your hometown newspaper. You may wish to bring a camera to take a photograph of your troop to accompany the press release.

There will be two adults admitted free per 25 participants. Please let us know how many will be in your party as soon as possible as space is limited.

A complete tour of Battleship USS ALABAMA (BB-60), Submarine USS DRUM (SS-228), Aircraft Pavilion, Nature Observatory, and other displays averages about three hours. You are free to arrange your itinerary to suit your travel plans, however YOU MUST BE CHECKED IN PRIOR TO 8:00PM ON THE EVENING OF YOUR OVERNIGHT STAY.
