Living History Crew Drill
August 1 @ 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
See history come to life as our WWII reenactors board the USS ALABAMA and USS DRUM. Join them on the fantail of the USS ALABAMA at 8:30 a.m. for the posting of the Colors and then enjoy a day in the park. The men demonstrate life aboard our vessels during WWII, share stories of our crewmen, and reenact jobs at sea. At 1:00 p.m. it’s all hands on deck when vintage airplanes attack the USS ALABAMA and the call to battle stations is sounded. Watch the men defend the ship with guns blazing as they fire the 20 mm and 40 mm guns. The Black Duck will fly their popular WWII airplanes, the L-Birds, into the park and land on the field in the morning. Following the battle reenact, the L-Birds will fly the missing man formation. Planes fly based on weather conditions. Reenactment is included in general admission tickets.
