Life at Sea Lecture Series: Teak Deck Replacement Update
Past USS Alabama Battleship Commission Chairman Bill Tunnell will discuss the teak deck replacement underway aboard the USS Alabama. Learn about the process, the efforts made to keep the historic integrity of the ship's deck, and the technology used. Lecture will be held in the Wardroom and is free for visitors to attend. See history come to life when our WWII reenactors board the battleship USS ALABAMA and submarine USS DRUM for their drills. These historical reenactors, dressed in period uniforms, tell the stories of the original crewmen. Presentations and demonstrations throughout the day. Live radio transmissions from Radio Central.
