Dixie Division Military Vehicle Show

Grounds of the Park

Come enjoy the display of vintage trucks, jeeps, motorcycles and more during this annual show and swap meet.  Located in the recreational area of the park, adjacent to the fishing pier.  Enjoy looking through the memorabilia and see what's for sale.  Show is free of charge.  There is a $4 park entry fee.

Come see history come alive! Join us as our WWII historical reactors board the battleship USS ALABAMA and submarine USS DRUM. Learn what life was like on these naval vessels during wartime. Be on the deck of the USS ALABAMA at 1 pm for the “call to battle stations” as vintage airplanes dive bomb the ship. Watch the men defend the Lucky A with guns blazing! USS ALABAMA Crewmen’s Association Reunion

Come meet the men who served aboard the USS ALABAMA.  These real-life heroes will make their yearly pilgrimage to the ship to remember and celebrate the victories of WWII.  Many special events are planned for the day including a concert by the Mobile Big Band Society, historical reenactments, a vintage military vehicle show and more.  Included in your admission.

Easter Sunrise Service

There will be an Easter Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m. on the grounds of the park hosted by Government Street Baptist Church.  This is the 29th year for this event.  The service is free of charge and open to the public.

Historic Marker Unveiling

The Tristan de Luna Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will be hosting an unveiling and dedication of a new historical marker on the grounds of the park honoring Tristan de Luna y Arellano.  This is an Alabama Bicentennial Celebration event.

Alabama’s 15th Annual Blue Star Salute & Alabama’s Fallen Heroes Run

Come celebrate Armed Forces Day with us.  The day begins with a 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run at 7:00 a.m. and continues throughout the morning.  Event includes a concert by the 151st Army Band featuring vocalist Rob Robinson.  Silver Wings Parachute Demonstration, UH 60 Black Hawk landing, the Blue Star and Gold Star programs and more.  The event is free with $4 parking fee and the public is invited to attend.

Community Blood Drive

ARRL Museum Ships Weekend

The American Radio Relay League will be hosting Museum Ships Weekend, a continuous radio broadcast by the historic ship fleet.  The Deep South Amateur Radio Club will board the USS ALABAMA and USS DRUM and conduct a 36 hour broadcast.  The broadcast will begin on Friday evening and continue through Sunday.  Call letters for the USS ALABAMA is K4DSR, frequency between 20-40 meters.  Stop by and check out our radio operators and listen to their conversations.

USS DRUM Crewmen’s Association Reunion

Come help us celebrate the 50th anniversary of the USS DRUM at Battleship Memorial Park.  The day will include the unveiling of a new crewmen's kiosk, a Memorial Service remembering those we have lost from the USS DRUM crew and a celebration of this National Historic Landmark.  The USS DRUM Living History Crew will be aboard to help tell the story of her crew.  Included in admission.
